Thank you to all the volunteers who helped us before, during, and after VBS.  It takes many hands to make Vacation Bible School a success.  Thank you to those who volunteered their time, who donated food and money, for for those who offered prayer throughout the week.  We greatly appreciate everyone who supported VBS this year!

SB Youth & SB Kids:

OUR CHURCH WILL HAVE A FUTURE!  The next generation is a major focus of ours.  In September, we will have a dedicated YOUTH ROOM with a worship and game area.  There will be weekly meetings led by our Youth Pastor, who is currently planning awesome Bible studies, events, and retreats for the next year.

We are also going to continuously improve our KIDS' MINISTRY area by doing once-a-month theme events and having dedicated areas of worship for different age groups.  Get ready because September will be a huge month for our church!  Many new things are launching and we will begin to get the word out starting in August!  HERE. WE. GO!

Are you finding the Bible difficult to understand at times?

Sometimes the Bible can be frustrating to read, especially from a Western mindset.  Dr. Brown is recommending a resource (app and/or website) to take your understanding of the Bible to a whole new level.  The ENDURING WORD Bible Commentary from David Guzik is a trusted study resource for anyone wanting to study and understand God's Word.  Download the app on your phone and instead of simply reading the Bible, begin to dive into the world of the Bible.  Understand it like never before.  The commentary goes verse by verse, and is there to help you during those difficult-to-understand passages and books like Leviticus!  LOL! Enjoy!

FLAT DR. BROWN

Are you familiar with Flat Stanley?  If you have young children, you may know exactly who we’re talking about!  If not, allow me to explain.  Flat Stanley is a fictional character in a children’s book written by Jeff Brown.  Stanley was squashed by a falling bulletin board while he was at school.  His parents rolled him up, put him in an envelope, and mailed him to a friend in California, and Flat Stanley went on a variety of adventures!  Many primary teachers make Flat Stanleys to give to their students.  The children take Flat Stanley home and take photos of Flat Stanley doing ALL SORTS of things….riding on the lawn mower, going to the beach, playing at the playground, etc.  The child is then asked to write about Flat Stanley’s adventures and tell their classmates what Flat Stanley did when he was with their family!

With that said, we have our very own FLAT DR. B!  Please see the tab above for information on how to adopt your very own Flat Dr. B....and to see even more photos of Flat Dr. B's adventures!

WHERE WILL FLAT DR. B SHOW UP NEXT?!  😃

Flat Dr. B has been kidnapped by Dr. Ergun Caner!

SALIX BETHEL CHURCH LOGO

We have unveiled our new Salix Bethel Church logo!  A lot of thought and research went into creating this logo.  Below is a brief description of the symbolism and colors used.

The cross is central, with people on both sides of the cross.  Beneath is an open Bible, and above is an arc.  The cross is a symbol of Jesus’ sacrifice…His love for us….and our salvation.  The open Bible is our foundation, the Word of God.  The people on either side of the cross represent our church family, both inside the walls of our church and those in our community.  And finally, the arc is a symbol of hope and mercy.

After researching the Biblical meaning of various colors, it was decided that green and blue fit Salix Bethel Church perfectly.  Here are the Biblical meanings behind each color:

Green symbolizes growth and renewal and represents a new beginning and restoration.  What a wonderful representation of Salix Bethel Church!  It also symbolizes prosperity, flourishing, and the resurrection that we see each Spring. Blue represents the color of the Heavens, the Holy Spirit, divinity, trust, and loyalty.  Blue, spiritually, signifies the healing power of God, and it is the most sublime color which, Biblically, represents the Word of God.

The logo was created by Kim Hostetler, who is a member of the Vision Committee.
